Laverne Detweiler, 75, of Townville, passed away, Monday, December 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1939 in Constantine, Michigan, a son of Monroe Detweiler and Edna Bontrager Detweiler. He married Ila Yoder on October 11, 2008. She survives.
He was employed as an Aluminum Contractor and was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church is Sarasota, Florida,
Laverne enjoyed hunting and repairing clocks and watches which he was a collector of many.
In addition to his loving wife, Ila Detweiler of Townville, he is survived by two daughters, Esther Troyer and her husband Norman of Sarasota, Florida and Cindy Mast and her husband Marlin of Hartville, Ohio; a grandchild, Marlin Mast, Jr. and his wife Erin of Hartville, Ohio; two sisters, Elsie Anderson of Sarasota, Florida and Laura Sommers and her husband Allen of Hartville, Ohio; three brothers, Harold Detweiler and his wife Debbie of Rawlins, Wyoming, Lester Detweiler and his wife Jamima of Sarasota, Florida, and James Detweiler and his wife Laurie of Townville; a sister in law, Ramona Detweiler of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
Laverne was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and two brothers, Wilbur and Raymond Detweiler.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Sunday, December 28th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Chapmanville Community Church, 1043 Leboeuf Trail Road, Titusville. The funeral service will be held of Monday, December 29th at 11:00am at Chapmanville Community Church with Pastor Glen Van Cise, officiating.
Burial will take place in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.

Hello Everybody So sorry about Laverne. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this
sad time. I know we shocked you when your Mom
passed but I’m unable to travel at this time. It would be a heck of a lot shorter trip to see ya all. Happy New Year!!!!
