MEADVILLE - Joseph Nelson Stoke, 65, of Meadville, passed away, Friday, August 15, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 10, 1949 in Titusville, PA, son of the late Nelson Joseph and Edna Maude Southwick Stoke. He married Sharon Willis on September 20, 1969. He was a Vietnam veteran serving four years in the United States Navy. In 2004, he retired after 32 years of service as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. Joe was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2006, American Legion Post 111 and the Meadville Club. He enjoyed football, golfing, fishing, hunting, and NASCAR. Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Sharon Willis Stoke of Meadville; his daughter Jenny Kreider and her husband Randy of Meadville; his son Jeff Stoke of Mechanicburg, PA; one sister, Judy Burge and her husband Russell of Cambridge Springs; two brothers, Craig Stoke and his wife Jane of Corry; and Tim Stoke of Canadohta Lake; four grandchildren, Takuma Stoke, Asuka Stoke, Mason Kreider and Brandon Kreider; also several nieces and nephews. Services will will be private at the request of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted in the care of Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, 13465 N Wayland Rd, Meadville, PA 16335 or The Yolanda Barco Cancer Center, 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd, Meadville, Pa 16335.
