Helen Jean Ward Cornell, 74, of Meadville, went to be with her Savior on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on September 4, 1939 in Payneville, Kentucky a daughter of Walter Ward and Claire Bornes Ward. She married Clyde E. Cornell on July 15, 1961. He survives.
Helen was a member of Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, shopping and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Clyde of Meadville; she is survived by three daughters, Debbie Dilley and her husband Ross of Meadville, Giva Hoague and her husband Harry of Meadville, and Marilyn Frisina and her husband Jon of Meadville; three sons, Walter Cornell and his companion Tammy of Meadville, Birt Cornell of Albion, and Clyde Cornell and his companion Jean of Meadville; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad; mother in law Giva Cornell; brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, May 27th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Bible Baptist Church, 11166 Livermore Road, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at the church at 1:00pm with Pastor Phillip Thomas of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
