Arthur W. Gaut, 86, of Andover, Ohio, passed away, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the home of his grandson. He was born in Meadville on July 15, 1927 a son of Clarence Gaut and Martha Susan Adell-McGuire Gaut. He married Angela M. Detomaso, she preceded him in death October 20, 2009.
He was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and served his machinist apprenticeship in Cleveland, Ohio.
Arthur served his county from 1940 - 1942 with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He owned and operated Redan Machine Company in Andover, Ohio for 40 years until his retirement.
Arthur enjoyed doing yard work,reading, watching westerns, and spending time with the family dog.
He is survived by a daughter, Arlene Gaut of Andover, Ohio; a grandson, Alan Gaut, Jr. and his wife Niki of Meadville; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Presley Gaut both of Meadville; and a brother, Donald Gaut and his wife Ruth of Carlsbad, California.
In addition to his wife, Angela, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan Gaut, Sr.; and a sister, Freda Gaut.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, July 22nd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. An additional calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at the funeral home from 10:00am to 11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am with Father John Ordos of Sacred Heart Church of the Crucified One, officiating.
The committal service and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
