Elizabeth H. Rockwell, 96, of Hillside Home, formerly of 245 Grandview Ave., Meadville, passed away, Monday, November 12, 2012 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. She was born on May 28, 1916 a daughter of Harry C. Hustead and Beryl Newcomer Hustead. She married Ewing H. Rockwell on July 3, 1935; he passed away on December 8, 1987.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Georges High School in Uniontown and was a homemaker caring for her family.
She was a member to Grace United Methodist Church and at the church she was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.
Elizabeth was a member of Church Women United, United Methodist Women and held many offices in the local, district, and conference of the United Methodist Church.
She was a past president of Meadville Women's Club, Sunset Auxiliary, and on the Wesbury board for a number of years.
Elizabeth is survived by a son, Thomas H. Rockwell and his wife Lois of Meadville; a daughter, Patricia A. Toboz and her husband Daniel of Meadville; a grandson, Jeffrey Dudenhaver and his wife Judith of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Lori Elinsky and her husband Scott of Oak Hill, Virginia; Cami Robie and her husband T.J. of Erie, Pennsylvania; a great granddaughter, Kelly Dudenhaver of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania; a great grandson, Michael Dudenhaver of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania; a sister, Mildred Lott of Ocala, Florida; several step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; an unborn Great-Grandson and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Ewing of 52 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wendell Hustead; and a sister, Evelyn Hustead whom passed away at the age 6.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Robert Goodnough of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
