Gloria Jean Johnson, 74, of Middle Road, Meadville, passed away, Wednesday May 30, 2012 peacefully at her residence. She was born January 6, 1938 a daughter of Clarence Winiecke and Mary Mosbacher Winiecke. She married Kenneth A. Johnson in 1955. He passed away on January 13, 2011. She attended Meadville Area High School and was a homemaker taking care of her children. She was a member of New Beginnings Church of God. Gloria could crochet for hours and was a gifted seamstress. She also enjoyed canning, reading, and taking care of her flowers. Gloria is survived by two daughters, Darlene Toney and her husband Charlie of Seminole, Florida and Katherine Johnson of Erie; a son, Douglas Johnson of Meadville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Toney, Donald Gilbert, and Dustin, Harley, and Trevor Johnson; two sisters, Theresa Trypus and her husband Wally of Linesville and Rose Mary Calvert and her husband Gene of Conneaut Lake; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband Ken, she was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, June 4th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Temple Jarrell, officiating, assisted by Pastor Cliff Forbes both of New Beginnings Church of God. Burial will be private in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville. Per Gloria's wishes donations are to be made in her memory to New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
