MEADVILLE " Eleanor L. Poux, 88, of 12852 Leslie Road, Meadville, died Monday, March 7, 2011, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. Born in Meadville on March 27, 1922, she was a daughter of Edward and Leda DeMaison Popney. She married Richard Poux on Feb. 5, 1944; he passed away Aug. 7, 1991. She was a graduate of Randolph High School. She worked for American Viscose and was an aide at Maplewood schools. She volunteered at the American Cancer Society. She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen Huber and her husband, Robert, of Durango, Colo., Diane Gordon and her husband, Gary, of Guys Mills, Susan Yanc of Meadville, and Margaret Poux and her companion, Paul Porter, of Cresco; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Ruth Walton; a brother, Edward Popney; and a granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Poux. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, with a prayer vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Father Raymond Gramata of St. Agatha’s as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 505 Poplar St., Suite 310, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
