MEADVILLE " Frances C. Williams, 87, formerly of 354 Ravine St., Meadville, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Community. Born in Meadville on Feb. 23, 1923, she was a daughter of Vincent J. and Margaret A. Pieffley Davern. She was married to Bill Johnson. Subsequently, she married Clyde W. Williams, who passed away in 1975. She was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. She spent her elementary years at St. Brigid School and graduated from Meadville High School. She worked at Badner’s clothing store and Weldon’s clothing store. She prepared taxes for individuals out of her home on a manual typewriter. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, watching “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy!,” basketball during the Michael Jordan years, and “Two and a Half Men.” Survivors include two sons, David P. Johnson of Meadville and Gary Williams of Townville; a sister, Marie C. Smith of Meadville; four grandchildren, Shelley M. Johnson, Sean M. Johnson, Sherri M. Johnson and Cindy Williams; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Clyde W. Williams, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Tracy R. Williams; and five brothers, Jim, Jack, Paul, Bill and Joseph Davern. Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with a prayer vigil service at 8:30 p.m., with the Rev. Mark O’Hern officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mark O’Hern as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
