MEADVILLE " Clyde W. Henegan 82, of 10350 Circle West, Meadville passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center following a long illness.
Clyde was born June 13, 1928 in Hartstown, PA, he was a son of Austin Henegan and Rachael Linnan Henegan.
Following his school years he joined the U.S. Army in 1946 serving in the later part of WWII and the Korean Conflict as a sergeant. He was discharged on March 15, 1948.
After his military service he became a well respected salesman for Sears, Wards, Shryocks and Vic Farrah Chevrolet garage. He enjoyed visiting with people, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding Clyde’s death in addition to his parents was his son William Henegan of Arlington Virginia; four sisters Virginia Henegan, Lauretta Henegan, Amelia New, and Betty Kelly, two brothers, Michael Henegam and Burnell Henegan.
Surviving Clyde in addition to his wife Doris of 37 years is his step-son Jack Davis and his wife Sandra of Florida, Step-daughters Cristine Maloney and her husband Donald, Donna Ganley and her husband John from Meadville. He also had nine grandchildren " Tara, Tiffany, Tennille, Tricia, Jennifer, Craig, Stacey, Bill, Kurt, and six great-grandchildren " Connor, Jake, Becca, Ella, Haley, and Chase.
Clyde was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Redeemer serving as an elder and an adult bible study teacher.
Friends may call at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Rachel Johns pastor of the United Presbyterian Church of Redeemer. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Yolanda G. Doris we are so sorry to hear about Clyde. We know he is in heaven where he belongs and will be watching over all of us. We enjoyed the conversations we had with him during our time at Watson Run Church and will never forget them. Please know we are thinking of you and your family. God bless you.
Grandma we are so sorry to lose such an amazing man, but know that Grandpa is at peace now. We love you so much and want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you now. All the love in our hearts is with during this difficult time.
