Shirley L. Wilcox

SAEGERTOWN ��” Shirley L. Wilcox, 84, formerly of Kern Alley, Saegertown, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Crawford County Care Center. Born in Union City on Sept. 21, 1925, she was a daughter of Lewis Reynolds and Beryl Sargent Reynolds. She married George Wilcox on Sept. 7, 1943; he preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1978. She retired from Spencer Hospital. She enjoyed reading, garage saling and watching her great-grandsons play baseball, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include three sons, George (Butch) Wilcox Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Blooming Valley, Richard Wilcox and his wife, Sue, of Decatur, Tenn., and Ronnie Wilcox and his wife, Dorothy, of Ashtabula, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Kerry Reagle and her husband, Don, Renee Spencer and her husband, Mark, Scott Twombley and his fiancee, Jeannie, Robert Wilcox and his wife, Michelle, Roxanne Thompson and her husband, Rodney, Laurie Chewning and her husband, Sam, Shannon Copeland and her husband, Edward, Erin Gunter and her husband, Galvin, and Heather Wilcox; a sister-in-law, Gladys Reynolds of Meadville; several great-grandchildren, including Trey and Jaden Reagle with whom she was especially close; and a close friend, Edie Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Robert Reynolds; and a great-grandchild, Jaydon Copeland. Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Beverly Spore of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church officiating. The committal service and burial will follow at North Richmond Cemetery.
