Jean H. Brenoel Jean H. Brenoel, 80, of Hunters Ridge Blvd., Meadville, passed away at her home Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.She was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Meadville to Rupert Thomas and Maude Edith (Brock) Hughes. She married Paul Edward Brenoel of Meadville Nov. 19, 1960. He died Sept. 23, 2000.Jean graduated from Meadville Senior High School in 1946 and from Spencer Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She had been employed in the obstetrical department at the following hospitals: Spencer Hospital, Meadville; Yuma General Hospital, Yuma, Ariz.; Sharon General Hospital, Sharon; and Youngstown Hospital Association, North Side, and Youngstown, Ohio.She was a volunteer tutor for the Crawford County Read Program for five years, a member of the Crawford County Genealogical Society and the Crawford County Historical Society. She compiled several family histories. She enjoyed country line dancing.Jean is survived by a son, Jeffrey R. Brenoel of Linesville; a daughter, Amy R. Miller of Woodruff, S.C.; three grandchildren, Dustin Messner and Emily Messner of New Bloomfield, Jeremiah Miller of Woodruff, S.C.; a sister, Lynda (Gary) Hoyt of Mercer; a sister-in-law, Helen Hughes of Meadville; a brother, Arden (Florence) Hughes of Meadville; and many very special nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard B. Hughes.The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Historical Society or the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, N.Y. 14240-0631.A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced with burial taking place at Greendale Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.

  1. Mom, I miss you so much, even now. I have tried to do the right things and live a good life. Leona is gone, if there is a heaven and you are there, make sure you find her.
