V. Carol Sybrant Drake TOWNVILLE - V. Carol Sybrant Drake, 90, of Townville, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville. She was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Townville, a daughter of Ernest and Susie Cross Sybrant, who preceded her in death. She married Morris E. Drake in July 1935. They were married for 42 years before his death in February 1977. She attended the Lamb School in Townville. She loved working with her flowers and outdoor displays for the holidays for many years. She also enjoyed writing to her many friends all over the United States. Carol had worked until 1981, cleaning houses in Meadville and Townville. Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, June Drake; her brothers, Marlo Sybrant, Leland (Bucky) Sybrant, Roger Sybrant, Walter Sybrant, and an infant brother who died in childbirth; and her sisters, Alice Hamilton, Orma Peters and Winifred Hamilton. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Drake Bentley of Laurel, Md.; and her sons, Keith Bentley of Pine Mt., Ga., Randall Bentley of Maui, Hawaii, and Martin Bentley of Laurel; a daughter, Judy Drake Glasgow and her husband, Clinton, of Baltimore, and their two daughters, Shannon Glasgow and Heather Gimbel and her husband, John, of Maryland; a daughter, Janet Drake Chris of Centerville; a son, Gary Drake and his wife, Dorothy of Townville, and their children, Shawn Drake and his wife, Angel, of the United Arab Emirates and Melissa Bemis of Harrisburg; and a sister, Marjorie Smith of Townville. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Main Street, Townville. The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Beverly Sheets of Townville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Townville Ambulance, PO Box 85, Townville, Pa. 16360.
