Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Thelma I. Deal, 85, of Egbert Ave., Franklin, died on Saturday, September, 29, 2012 at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca. Born December 8, 1926 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Henry Smith. Mrs. Deal was a nurses aid at the Franklin hospital and also for VNA homecare. Thelma enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and taking care of people. She was married on December 11, 1943 to William E. Deal who preceded her in death on January 21, 2009. She is survived by her son George A. Deal Sr. and wife Barbara of Richmond, VA, her daughters Billie L. McMichael and husband John A. III of Galveston, TX, and Phyllis J. Moorhouse of Franklin, and a brother William Smith and wife Darlene of Franklin. Thelma is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Robert Deal Jr. of Erie, William H. Deal of Franklin, Brian Deal of Beaver, Rhonda Montgomery and husband Robert of Titusville, Tambra Karns and husband David of Arlington, TX, Terri Jo McMichael of Franklin, Barbara A. McMichael of Arlington, TX, John A. McMichael IV of Arlington, TX, George A. Deal Jr. and wife Courtney of Richmond, VA, Laura L. Deal of Atlanta, GA, Anne Marie Deal of Richmond, VA, Susan Marie Kern and husband Craig Scott of Cave Junction, OR, and TomiRea Williams and husband David of Diamond, OH. Also surviving are her 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Thelma was preceded in death by her son Robert A. Deal Sr., her daughter Barbara Ann Deal, nine brothers; Harry, Clifford, Pete, Ronald, Richard, Melvin, Gilbert, Albert, and Calvin, and three sisters; Wilda, Geraldine, and Phyllis. Friends and family of Thelma will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Larry Deal officiating. . Interment will take place in Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.   2. Dear Family. I was so sorry to hear of your recent loss. We are never really prepared for the loss of those we love. I find comfort in the scriptures such as Revelation 21:4 which speaks of a time with no more sickness and death. I hope you to can draw comfort from this.

  5. SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT AUNT THELMA..SHE WAS TRULY ONE OF A KIND, AND WHEN YOU PUT HER AND MOM TOGETHER IT TOOK 3 OF A KIND TO BEAT THAT PAIR…THEY BOTH COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE COMEDY TOUR..SHE IS AT PEACE AND JOINING MOM AND THE REST OF THE SMITHS AT THE HAND OF GOD..
