Shirley was one of our neighbors when we moved to Meadville in 1991, and we lived near her on Walnut Street. I observed her hard at work many times either shoveling snow or tending to her yard. She was thoughtful with our 3 children(now adults), and I fondly recall the time when she brought over a bag of McDonald happy meal figures she’d been collecting for them! We exchanged holiday cards every year, and when we moved from Walnut Street, Shirley delivered a housewarming gift to my husband’s worksite in Meadville. Whether through a chance meeting in town or a mailed card, Shirley was kind to me and my family. Dear Shirley, rest in peace.
Like Debbie, I observed Shirley’s hard work shovelling snow and working in her yard. She loved to talk about her early years. She was always quick to send out a note thanking me for anything I did for her or gave to her. May she rest in peace.
Shirley will always be remembered as a wonderful friend to our mother. She will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Shirley was our neighbor for over 22 years….she could always be seen as one of the first to shovel her walkway! She was so thoughtful to friends in need. She always contacted Judy every holiday to deliver a special gift to a friend at Rolling Fields….! She will be missed!
