Ruby L. Foster, 78, formerly of 1212 Chestnut Street ,Franklin passed away at 9:30 PM ,April 4, 2013 at The Caring Place, where she had resided for the past year. Born March 31, 1935 in Cranberry, PA, Ruby was the daughter of the late James and Edna (Bell) Haniwalt. On May 28, 1982 she married Quay H. Foster, who preceded her in death in 1997 . Ruby retired from Polk Center where she worked/stayed a week at a time as a Matron in the Cottages. Mrs. Foster enjoyed Bingo, trips to Salamenca, NY, and spending time with her family. Ruby is survived by her son Tim Foster and his wife, Cindy, of Franklin; a grandson, Mark Foster and his wife, Virginia; and a great-grandson, Adam of Erie. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Dilley of Franklin; a brother, Richard Haniwalt and his wife, Deb, of Renfrew; her step-children, Quay Foster and his wife, Adel, and Kathy Korbel both of New Jersey, Patty Vowles and her husband, Larry, and James Foster both of Florida; her step-grandchildren, Pam Goltare and her husband, Mark, Lori Lee and her husband, Jimmy, and Charles Shuffstall and his wife, Casey, all of the Franklin area; many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special great-niece and nephew, Emma and Kaleb. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Pearl Haniwalt; an infant brother Donny; a step-son, Frank; and a sister-in-law Jan Haniwalt. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, April, 10, 2013, from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at The Caring Place, 103 N. 13th Street, Franklin, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Jim Lichlighter pastor of the 7th Street First Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Rubys name to The 7th Street First Church of God, 703 Liberty Street, Franklin, PA 16323 .
