Rodney Dean Whitmore, 40, of 2116 Bredinsburg Road, Franklin, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at UPMC Northwest of Seneca. Born Sept. 15, 1968, in Franklin, he was the son of Arthur D. Whitmore and Donna Stanley-Heffern. He was married March 28, 2009, to the former Tracey Smith-Morris, who survives. Mr. Whitmore was a machinist for 17 years at Time Machine. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and four wheelers, he also enjoyed camping, and he was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. In addition to his father and his wife, he is survived by two children, Nakoby Dean Whitmore and Niccole Rae Morris, both of Franklin; and two brothers, Randall D. Whitmore and his wife, Cris; and Russell E. Whitmore and his wife, Cheryl, all of Franklin. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Heffern, Sr. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Susan Evans, the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association Hospice chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow in Heckathorn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin, 16323.   3. Words cannot express how bad I feel about the loss of Rod. I loved him like a brother. Even if we did not see each other very much when we got older. We had some good times as kids.
