Robert Reid Shouey, 71, of McCalmont Street, Franklin died at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Born December 16, 1941 in Sugarcreek Borough, PA, Robert was the son of the late Phares and Pearl (Singleton) Shouey. He was married to the former Judith Slater on November 1, 1974. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2009. Robert owned and operated the Pennzoil Station in Rocky Grove. He was employed by the Amalee Refinery and CPT. He was also employed by Burnes Security as a Security Guard until his retirement. Mr. Shouey was a member of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan. Robert is survived by his son Todd Shouey and his wife, April of Seneca; his brother Richard Shouey of Dover, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Joan Slater of Franklin; his sisters-in-law Linda Hefferman and her fiance, Jay Master of Rocky Grove, Cheryl Beightol and her husband, Randy of Rocky Grove, and Janice Griswold and her husband, James of Rocky Grove; brother-in-law, Joe Slater of Rocky Grove; three grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Haylee Emick, Samantha Shouey, and Robert Shouey, all of Seneca; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judith Shouey. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Saturday, December 22, 2012, from 9-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held following visitation on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Kifer pastor of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will take place in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
