Robert Dana Blair Robert Dana Blair, 65, of Georgetown Road, Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Born August 10, 1946, in Franklin, Bob was the son of Dana E. and Irene M. Wentworth Blair. He was married to the former Cathy Sue Boughner on October 21, 1967, and she survives. Mr. Blair was a United States Marine Vietnam Veteran having served August 26, 1964 until June 1, 1970. While in the Marines, Bob was the recipient of two Purple Heart Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal (w/2*), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (w/device) and the Rifle (M-14) Marksman Badge. He was a Squad Leader, a Platoon Sergeant, and also a Weapons Specialist, serving in the Military Police. Bob was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School, lettering in wrestling and football. He also was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey. He was an avid grouse hunter, and enjoyed fishing and shooting sporting clays. He spent many cold days at Pymatuning Lake duck and geese hunting. He especially cherished spending time with his family. He retired in 1989 from the City of Franklin where he was a Sergeant with the City Police Department. He had also worked at one time as a Deputy for the Venango County Sheriff's Department, delivered medicine for Community Drugs, and was an E.M.T. for Community Ambulance. In addition to his wife and mother, Bob is survived by his sons, Richard T. Blair of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Robert C. Blair and his wife, Charity, of Polk; and his daughter, Leisa Ann Stellman of Ocean City, Maryland. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas A. Blair of Franklin; his sister, Marcia Lee Blair of Polk; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved hunting dog, Madison. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation and Funeral Services for Bob will be private and will be held at the convenience of his family. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.
