Richard A. Sharpe, 80, of 30188 State Highway 408, Townville, passed away, December 2, 2011 at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was born on Sharpe Road in Waterford Township, PA on April 21, 1931 a son of Adrian Sharpe and Lydia Lindberg Sharpe. He married Kathleen Woods on October 15, 1953, she survives. He was a 1949 graduate of Waterford High School and served his country in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. Richard farmed and worked for Meadow Brook Dairy Plant from 1959 to 1973, he then went on to work for Steers Dairy, Danforth and Wood Construction and retired from Meadville Bottling Company and the family business The Hunters Den Gun Shop. He was a member of American Legion Post 381 in Cambridge Springs. His favorite hobby was restoring old tractors which he had restored many throughout the years, he also was an avid hunter. Including this wife Kathleen of 58 years he is survived by two sons, Glenn Sharpe of Townville and Thomas Sharpe and his wife Brenda of Chapmanville; a daughter, Nancy Lokuta and her husband Mike of Cambridge Springs; three grandchildren, Richard Lokuta, Sarah Shupe and her husband Ben, and Regina Lokuta; a special friend, Mike Anderson; a brother, Thomas Sharpe and his wife Marilyn of Erie; a sister, Marge Gibson and her husband Bill of Nixa, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held privately at a later date.   3. To the whole family- Uncle Dick will be missed. There are memories of him. I can even remember the farm & a huge pig. The cottage on the lake. Whenever I think of him I think of his smile and him always laughing. He was the best natured man I have ever met. You will be missed by many. You are a huge lost to so many. with all our love.   4. To the entire Sharpe family, I wish there was something I could say or do that would make it easier for you. I have alot of memories of Dick and how he enjoyed his life, I know how proud he was everyone in his family, specially his grandchildern . He always spoke so highly of you all and would just smile and laugh at the things you’ld do. His family was his world.
    Glenn, We really had some fun, years back trading ,talking guns and hunting chucks, I always felt welcome at the shop. Your Dad will be missed by many and I’m very glad I knew him.

  7. So sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. You all are in our thoughts and prayers at this side time. We know he has gone to his permanent home but it is hard for those left behind. I miss my parents every day but the legacy they leave behind is truly a blessing. I haven’t seen Richard for a long time but I Will always remember his warm smile and they way he joked with me when Nancy and I were small. He was a joy to be around. He had a great laugh too. He was larger then life to me growing up and I will cherish those memories. Sympathy and prayers to you all,

  9. Sometimes, as we go through life we are lucky enough to meet someone that is truly an exceptional human being. An individual that through their own strength of character make you a better person than you would be otherwise. Richard was one of those someones for sure. My heart goes out to you all.

  10. So sorry to hear of Dicks passing. I had enjoyed talking to him at the class reunion two years ago. I think he put a lot of effort in to making these reunion come together. My condolences to his wife and family.
