Norma M. Kessler

Norma Mae (Schrecengost) Kessler ERIE - Norma Mae Schrecengost Kessler, 84, formerly of Meadville, and most recently of Spring Hill, Erie, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.She was born in Braddock, June 28, 1924, a daughter of Daniel W. and Vera M. Schrecengost.She lived in Meadville for many years, where she was a talented seamstress, a bookkeeper for 10 years and she sold real estate for 10 years before her retirement. She then lived in Sarasota, Fla., for 10 years, where she was a volunteer at the senior center in Sarasota for eight years. Following that, she moved to Spring Hill in Erie.Survivors are her three daughters, Michele Takei and her husband, Frank, of Raleigh, N.C., Danielle Lang and her husband, Rick, of Meadville, and Joan Betterley and her husband, Rick, of Sterling, Mass.; and her sister, Natalie Lobach Pucillo of York. She had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard P. Kessler, in 1987.Norma was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Meadville and St. James Methodist Church in Sarasota.A memorial service for family and friends will be conducted at a future date.Memorial donations may be sent to Spring Hill Senior Living Community, 2323 Edinboro Road, Erie, Pa. 16509. Arrangements are being handled by Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
