Mary E. "Betty" Canon, 94 of Saegertown, passed away February 7, 2012 at Crawford County Care Center. She was born on May 11, 1917 in Meadville the daughter of Raymond and Mae Brunner Blyler. She was married to William G. Canon, he preceded her in death. She was a member of Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Church and loved bowling and playing cards. She is survived by her niece, Laura Johnson of Saegertown and her children Terry Dennis of Saegertown, Linda Brown of Guys Mills, and Dr. Kurt Johnson of Erie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her two sons, William and Robert; two brothers, Fred and Walter Blyler; and a sister, Geraldine Brown. Her family would like to "Thank" the staff at Crawford County Care Center and Hospice of Crawford County for the care they provided. There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 9th at 10:00am at Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 222 Renner Lane, Saegertown, with Father David Poulson as celebrant, being assisted by Father Robert Fedor. Burial will follow in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville. The family request donations may be made in Betty's memory to Saegertown Fire Department, 601 Erie Street, Saegertown, PA 16433 or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.     Want to send our sympathies to you and your family. We want to thank you for giving your loving care to Betty in her final years.
    Betty was one of a kind, she had a wonderful mind of memories when it came to all the people she had met in her lifetime. Her life did have an unmemtional life of tragedy which was very sad. Betty and Bill were lifelong friends of my mom and dad, it was party time most weekends. Betty came to my beauty shop for years and our talks and timed shared will be remembered forever.   2. Our thoughts are with you Laura , Didn’t know Aunt Betty that well personally, but felt her presents with us when we were golfing, out to lunch, etc. found her to be and interesting lady.
