June C. (Flick) Yarnell, 86, of Rocca Way, Franklin, passed away on February 6, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 14, 1927 in Widnoon, Clarion County, June was the daughter of the late James O. and Gladys Hetrick Duncan. She was married to Burton Yarnell, who survives. Mrs. Yarnell was a graduate of Kittanning High School, and had worked at the former Franklin Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. She was a very active member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church her entire life, where she taught both Sunday School and Bible School. Mrs. Yarnell enjoyed crafts and for many years had a booth at Franklins Apple Fest and other crafting events. She also participated in many Senior Citizen activities and was a member of the Utica Senior Center. Mrs. Yarnell is survived by her son, Johnny O. Flick and his wife, Patricia, of Franklin and her daughter, Paulette O. King and her husband, Kenneth of Polk; her step-daughters, Cindy Motter and her husband, Gary, of Titusville, Marcia Henry and her husband, Bill of Epsyville, Sharon Yarnell-Phillips and husband, John of St. Albans, West Virginia, and Betsy Rhoades and her husband, Bryan, of Guys Mills. She is also survived by her sister, Willovene Steiner of Lebanon, Ohio and her brother, Bill Duncan and his wife, Cheryl of Worthington; and her sister-in-law, Maxine Duncan of Templeton. Mrs. Yarnell is additionally survived by her grandchildren John Allan Flick and wife JoAnn, Tonya Durkin and husband Ben and Chad Flick and wife Rachel; step-grandchildren Bill Rice and wife Leah, Randy Rice and wife Tammy, Scott Becker and wife Lisa, Melissa Winans, Rebecca Gibbs and husband Rich, Marci Free, Leah, Alicia, and Cory Greathouse, Daniel Ferrell, Tyler and Jakob Rhoades and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Yarnell was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Flick; her brother, Fred Duncan; her sister Louave Hopper; 3 grandchildren, Kenneth, Kevin and Kris King; and her brother-in-laws, Alvin Hopper and James Steiner. Family and friends of Mrs. Yarnell will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin today February 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Additional viewing will take place on February 8th at 10:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home with Rev. Jonathan Bell and Rev. Richard Price officiating. Condolences to all my family since I am unable to come to PA in the memory of my sister-in-law June. She was a wonderful and great lady.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. We dearly loved Aunt June and will hold tight to the wonderful times and memories we shared with her. She has received her crown of glory that she devoted her whole life to. Heaven has gain a lovely angel.

June was a lovely, sweet person. She was such a joy to work with. Never in a sour mood and always eager to help others in any and every way. I know she is at peace and would want you to be happy for her. I am sorry for your loss. She was a great lady.
