John T. Jewell John T. Jewell, 72, of 1383 State Route 428, Oil City, passed away at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at UPMC Northwest Medical Center, Seneca. Born July 9, 1937, in Franklin, John was the son of the late John T. and Isabel McCane Jewell Sr. He was married June 26, 1982 to Cynthia S. Barlett, who survives. John retired from Polk Center in 1999 where he had worked as a Resident Staff Aide for more than 27 years. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, was a member of V.F. W. Post 1835, and enjoyed fishing and watching fireworks displays. He especially enjoyed the company of his beloved dog, Shelby. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, Michael Timothy Jewell of Carlton, PA; his daughter, Velva Fenstemaker and her husband, William of Meadville; six grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; and his brother Raymond Richard Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Robert Jewell, Arthur Jewell, David Jewell and Charles Jewell; his sister, Nancy Mook; his son, John Jewell; and his daughter, Susan Jewell. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, March 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. following visitation, with the Rev. Jack Kyle, retired pastor from Polk Center, presiding. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Venango County Humane Society, P.O. dear Cindy and the entire Jewell family, “sorry for your loss” John supplied us all with lot’s of laughs at the firewoks show at Polk, one day there was 5 guy’s working on the finale and got John really worked up, “Why he deserved a “new truck” for driving supplies for FW shows for Don Kieselka and that he deserved to be “treated” better!! boy Oh boy!! was he ever so ripping mad!! it was quite funny!! well there are probably many other stories about “gentle John” I would like to close this by saying “May God’s Grace Shine upon Your face John” sorry I couldn’t be there,Bobby Longo
