John Arnold Harmon, III, aged 60, died at home of natural causes on February 2, 2013.
He was born on October 19, 1952, in Meadville to John and Mae (Krasa) Harmon. He graduated from Meadville High School and attended Erie Business College where he earned a degree in Computer Programming. John worked as a finish carpenter. He was known for excellence in woodworking craftsmanship.
He loved sports. As a youngster he played baseball in the Vernon Township Little League. He was an avid fan of the state champion Meadville Bulldog hockey teams in the 1990s, and a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers.
John is survived by his sister, Wilma (Thomas) Clark, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; brothers-in law C. Leslie Hogg of Glendale, Arizona, and Robert Frye of Fuquay-Verina, North Carolina; nieces— Susan Clark (Andy Charrier), Kristina Clark, Kris (Michael) Grandinetti, Holly Frye, Barbara (Todd) Gautier, and Stephanie (Anthony) Parrinello; grand-nieces and –nephews—Anika Clark, Nicholas Steckel, Brooke Parrinello, Dominick Parrinello, Andrea Ayala; aunt, Dorothy Cholak; and many cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joyce Hogg; and his sister, Joan Frye.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, at the Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with a visitation period beginning at 10:00 a.m. and with a lunch following the service at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to give a memorial in John's name to a favorite charity.

So sorry to hear about John’s passing. I was his roommate ay EBC and he was the bestman at my wedding. Lost touch with John a long time ago, but thought about him often. I have great memories of John and the fun we shared in Erie.
We were sorry to hear of John’s passing. We have a lot of great memories growing up as kids and adults. He was one of a kind. He will be missed. Your all in our thoughts and prayers
I was very sad to hear of the passing of John. He was a huge supporter of the Bulldog Hockey team and an inspiration for many players in Meadville especially me. I enjoyed his energy and will always cherish his friendship! Thanks for the memories!

My uncle’s early death is hard to bear. I have lots of great memories of my Uncle John when I was a little girl. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was worth listening to! He will be missed greatly by his whole famly. I hope My Aunt Joyce, my mom, and Uncle John are all sharing great laughs together!!!
