James Leroy Pyle I, 70, of 573 Sunville Road, Franklin went to be with the Lord at 12:15 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009, at UPMC Northwest Medical Center. Born Oct. 10, 1938, he was the son of the late James Blair and Ruth Pyle. He was married March 9, 1956, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the former Janice Esther Watson, who survives. Mr. Pyle was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin. He was employed at Polk Center and Franklin Library as a custodian. He later worked for 30 years as Manager of Baker Auction Co. He enjoyed working on cars in his garage with his sons. Mr. Pyle enjoyed football and NASCAR, and was a fan of Kyle Busch. He was loved by his loving wife of 53 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Pyle is survived by nine children, Marion McCool and her husband, Glenn, of Franklin, James Leroy Pyle II and his wife, Nancy, of Franklin, Darryl A. Pyle and his wife, Betty, of Franklin, Darren D. Pyle and his wife, Lisa, of Cooperstown, Lynne L. Dick and her husband, Ron, of Sandy Lake, Wayne I. "Jake" Pyle and his wife, Lisa, of Oil City, Lauren M. Malone and her husband, Eric, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Renee L. Sterling and her husband, Jim, of Fredricksburg, Va. and Aaron J. Pyle of Franklin. He is survived by 20 grandchildren, Glenn McCool, Jr., Kayla McCool, Shana Pyle, Jennifer Pyle, Darren Pyle Jr., Jimmy Pyle, Shelly Pyle, Chaz Burt, Amber Pyle, Adam Pyle, Sara Pyle, Brenden Dick, Shannon Dick, Cameron Pyle, Delana "Sissy" Pyle, Aaron Pyle, Ashley Butryn, Thomas Butryn Jr., Tiffany Sterling "Widdy" and Matthew Sterling. Mr. Pyle is survived by nine great-grandchildren, Nicolas Rios, Rilee McCool, Madison "Doo" Marsh, Dylan Pyle, Kya Pyle, Autumn McKnight and Donovan McKnight. Mr. Pyle is also survived by five siblings, Grace, Linda, Judy, Randy and Mike. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pyle was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harry Pyle; a daughter, Lorraine Ann Pyle; a son, John Blair Pyle. Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Janz officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association.   4. I didn’t realize Jim was sick and I will not be able to make it to the funeral home. Your entire family has my deepest sympathy. Jim was a very nice man who loved to make you laugh. I knew him from the Baker auctions. He will be missed.
