Jacob "Jake' Levi Hazlett, 28, of 611 12th Street, Franklin, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 4, 2012, at his residence. Born on December 25, 1983 he was the son of Calvin 'Jake" W. and Joyce Sibble Hazlett. Jake was of the protestant faith. He was a Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, playing the guitar, and making people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew. In addition to his parents, Jake is survived by his brother, Thomas Wesley Hazlett of Cranberry, a sister, Brandi Slatton and her husband, Andy, of Zebulon, North Carolina, his nieces and nephew, Hope, Racheal, and Trey Slatton, and a best friend like a brother, Greg Valencia of Oil City. Jake was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Winifred Sibble, his paternal grandparents Howard and Paulene Hazlett, and a cousin Charlie Henry. Family and friends of Jake will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. in Franklin. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Boyer officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
