Harry L. Ross Harry L. Ross, 90, of Belmar Road, Franklin, passed away at 10:58 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born December 25, 1920, in Franklin, Harry was the son of the late Louis H. and Harriet Louise Rogers Ross. Harry was a 1938 graduate of Franklin High School. He married the former Florence Marie Lehman on May 18, 1941 in Franklin at the Baptist Church Parsonage, and she survives. They would have been married 70 years next month. Harry enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 and served aboard the USS William S. Wood. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. After his discharge, he worked at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. In 1953, the family moved to Burleson, Texas, where he was employed by CPT and Gearhart and Owens Tool Company until 1966 when the family moved back to Franklin and he became employed at Jalco Metals until his retirement in 1982. Harry loved hunting, fishing, traveling and was an avid book reader. He was a charter member of the Utica Fire Department. In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Dillion, Linda Shannon and her husband, Gary, all of Oil City, and Debra Clem and her husband, Michael, of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and his sons, Robert Ross and his wife, Shirley, of Melbourne, Arkansas, Ronald Ross and his wife, Mary Kay, of Point, Texas, James Ross of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Randy Ross of Dallas Texas. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Wilt, his brother, Louis H. Ross, Jr., 4 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ross. He was the last surviving member of his family. Family and friends of Harry will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, April 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Lea Guiney, pastor of East Grove and Polk United Methodist Churches, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Graham Cemetery.
