Harold R. Macblain

MEADVILLE " Harold R. MacBlain, 80, of 14714 Park Ave. Ext., Meadville, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Meadville Medical Center. Born in Meadville on Feb. 21, 1930, he was a son of Frances Marie Allen MacBlain. He married Grace L. Farkus. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1991. He worked for Aspen Tree Company, 25 years at Lafayette Taxi in Meadville, retired from Pennline Power and drove cars for Griffin Motors. He enjoyed doing yardwork for himself and for his neighbors, and rip-off tickets. He loved his dog, Harley. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 and the Eagles Club and a past member of the Italian Civic Club. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Smith and her husband, Lyle, of Meadville; a daughter-in-law, Debi MacBlain-Wall of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, Gary MacBlain and his wife, Kathy, of Conneautville, Joe MacBlain of Meadville, and Harold (Sonny) MacBlain and his wife, Joyce, of Ohio; two sisters, Norma Sala of Frenchtown and Peggy Severo of Meadville; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother; a son, Larry R. MacBlain; and a brother, Alan MacBlain. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
