Freda V. Tidd Freda V. Tidd, 93, formerly of 1418 Eagle Street, Franklin, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City. Born September 10, 1916, in Utica, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Gertrude Carnahan Hurd. She was married November 1, 1938 to Samuel H. Tidd, who preceded her in death August 20, 2005. Mrs. Tidd was a homemaker. She attended the First Baptist Church in Frankin. She very much enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking. She is survived by her two sons: James A. Tidd and his wife, Bonnie of Grove City, and Larry A. Tidd of Franklin. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Michael B. Tidd of Franklin; Brenda E. Petroff of McKean , PA; Jeremy B. Tidd and his wife, Bobbiejo, of Pearl, PA; and Trevor "T.J". Tidd of Pittsburgh; and her great-grandchildren: Hannah Tidd and Evan Tidd, both of McDonald, PA; and Haley Tidd, Michael Tidd, Sarah Tidd, all of Parker, Colorado, and Amanda Petroff of McKean, PA; and her two step-great-grandchildren: Leslie and Arthur Newburn of Slippery Rock. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tidd was preceded in death by her two grandsons, Jeffrey W. Tidd, and Bradley D. Tidd of Parker, Colorado; her five brothers, Harold Hurd, Kenneth Hurd, Jack Hurd, Bernard Hurd, and Frank Hurd; her two sisters, Mildred Shannon and Frances Pickup; and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Tidd. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Saturday, May 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services for Mrs. Tidd will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, May 30 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James G. Bennet, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Franklin, presiding. Interment will be at the Franklin Cemetery on Tuesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
