MEADVILLE - Betty (Elizabeth) Kircher, 90, of 557 Chestnut Street, passed away on March 22nd, 2011 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Meadville on August 9th, 1920 to Frank & Lavenia (Emig) Scheck. She married Frank Kircher Aug. 9, 1943, he died Nov. 27, 2001.
She worked at Viscose in the early 40's and then was a homemaker after the birth of her daughter.
She was a lifetime member of St. Agatha Church and graduated from St. Agatha High School in 1938. She belonged to St. Agatha Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed walking and word puzzles and making cookies for the troops.
Survivors include her sister Charlotte Popney of Meadville, son-in-law Ronald Mosbacher and his wife Kathy of Meadville, three grand children Doug Mosbacher and his wife Amy of MEadville, Kevin Mosbacher and his wife Kara of Pittsburgh and Debbie Barringer and her husband Andy of McKean, and seven great-grandchildren Ava, Maria, Hanna, Elizabeth, Abby, Michael and Johnny. Also a brother-in-law Art Boyce of Meadville, adn two sister-in-laws, Mary Jane Schreck of Meadville and Betty Walton of North Carolina and Many Neices and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, a daughter Janet Mosbacher, her parents, a brother Harold Schreck, and a sister Virginia Lindsey.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 24th, 2011 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 25th at10:00am at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville. with Father Raymond Gramata as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Agatha Cemetery.
