Douglas A. Boyle, Sr., 75, of Meadville, passed away, Monday, April 16, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Meadville, on May 6, 1936 a son of Ray and Lyle Butterfield Boyle.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School and did his Tool & Die apprenticeship at Talon. He worked for Saegertown Components, GTI, DIC Tool, and Telbar which he retired from. After retirement he worked for Canto Tool part-time.
Douglas was a member of B.P.O.E. Elks #219, The American Legion, Meadville Club, and West Mead #2 .
He enjoyed antiquing, trips to Chautauqua, NY, car shows, and auctions. He loved going to breakfast with his family and his dog, Ginger.
Survivors include his former wife and friend, Wilma Boyle of Saegertown; his children, Kimberly Collins and her husband Thomas of Ferrum, Va, Tammie Hoagland and her husband Clair of Conneaut Lake, Sherrie Kregel and her companion Jack Jones of Cochranton, PA, Debbie McClearn and her husband Van of Meadville, John Shinner of Conneaut Lake, Alice Smith and her husband Bob of Geneva, a daughter-in-law Tammy Boyle of Saegertown; a sister Donna Unger of Saegertown; former wife Jean; grandchildren, Jenifer, Haylie, Kathleen, Norman, Shawn, Melanie, Joseph, David, Brent, Maria, Remmie, Samantha, and Holden; Great-Grandchildren, Austin, Calista, Sora, Ventus, Taren, Evan and Logan; many nieces nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Marion Boyle; a son, Douglas A. Boyle, Jr.; step-daughter, Leslie Luciano; his first wife, Betty; and a sister Audrey Hood and her husband John.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth S. Custer of Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Denny Cemetery, Meadville, PA.

Kim, Tammie, Sherrie, Debbie, John, Alice & Wilma…so sorry to hear about Uncle Doug. Although his grumping and growling scared me to death when I was a kid, I really came to enjoy conversations with him at the firehall over the years or running into him at the grocery store. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you deal with your loss. No matter how young or how old, it hurts the same. God bless!

Rest in peace Doug (my first love) You suffered so much this past year – not only with your cancer but in the loss of our son. You helped me make some difficult decisions and I will always be so greatful to you. – It is hard for me to be sad knowing the two of you are together again and your pain is over.
