Daniel P. Beals Daniel P. Beals, 71, of Myrtle Street, Franklin, passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville. Born December 13, 1939, in Franklin, Daniel was the son of the late Dr. Norman King and Alice Silva Beals, Sr. He graduated as an honor student from Franklin High School in 1957 and graduated from Thiel College in Greenville in 1961. He completed one year of graduate training in psychology and two years of graduate training in social work. He graduated with his Masters Degree in 1964. Daniel worked in the Veterans Administration as a Supervisor and Manager for over 26 years. He supervised Drug, Psychiatric, Medical and Family Care Units at the Hospital. He also had a private practice and taught Psychology at various universities and helped start and run an adoption agency. In 1989, Daniel was in a car accident which caused him to have a head injury. He thereafter suffered from pain, headaches and terrible memory loss, and was unable to work. He was however, able to enjoy traveling and enjoyed visiting relatives and friends. Daniel was married in 1963 to Carol Ann Robinson, who is now a physician, practicing Medicine in Lansing, Michigan. Carol and Daniel were divorced in 1979. They have two grown children, Daniel Todd Beals and Randolf Scott Beals. Daniel Todd lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Colbin and Caden in Michigan, where Todd is the Chief Operating Officer of Detroit Country Club. Todd has a college degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. His wife, Jennifer, has a Graphic Arts Degree. Randy Beals lives in Michigan with his wife, Nancy and stepson, Alex. Randy has a Masters Degree in Engineering. Additionally, Daniel is survived by his brothers, Dr. Norman K. Beals, Jr. of California, Rev. David Richard Beals of Franklin, Dr. Paul Victor Beals of Maryland, and Stephen Conrad Beals of Franklin; and his sister, Kathleen Miller and her husband, John, of Oregon. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Beals. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin is handling arrangements.
