Cornelia "Connie Yanak Delaney, 67, of 275 Pioneer Rd., Franklin, died Sunday Feb. 22, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Nov. 1, 1941, in Sharon, Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cornelia Meszaros Selenchik. She was married Sept. 27, 1983, to Richard J. Delaney Jr., her loving husband and best friend, who survives. She was previously married to Emery Yanak, who preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Delaney worked at National City Bank in Franklin for many years and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. While working, she was involved with fundraising for March of Dimes, cancer Relay for Life, and bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She loved the outdoors, walking and her flowers. She enjoyed every moment she got to spend with her family and friends. Mrs. Delaney is survived by two sons, Richard Yanak and his wife, Karen, of West Middlesex, and Timothy Yanak and his wife, Lisa, of Hermitage; two step-children, Tammy Duell and her husband, Bill, of Volant, and Buck Delaney of Volant. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Clayton Yanak, Bradley Yanak, Tyler Yanak and Nicholle Yanak, all of Hermitage; and three step-grandchildren, Dennis Swogger and his wife, Traci, of West Middlesex, and Ariana Duell and Billy Duell, both of Volant. She is survived by three siblings, Ethel Foltz and her husband, Ted, of West Middlesex, Joseph Selenchik and his wife, Annette, of Hermitage, and Mary Burke and her husband, David, of Sharpsville; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors. She was blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people with their encouragement and prayers. The family will received friends and relatives from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Gardinier Funeral Home and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Good Shepherd Church, West Middlesex. A Christian wake service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with Monsignor Robert Malene as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Church in Farrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to any organizations listed above or to the Howard Kirtland Cancer Foundation, P.O.     I worked with Connie at NCB years ago and she had become a family friend. She’ll be greatly missed.

    I will always remember her being such a courage lady no matter her pain she never complained she always had a smile on her face.

  4. Mary: Sorry for your loss. I read the paper (on line) this a.m. and decided to re-read it. I accidentally opened up this obit and noticed she was your sister. We are getting to the age where it seems we spend a lot of time offering condolences. Our best to you.

  5. Dick and family…words cannot express the great sorrow i feel for you all at this time! Connie was such a beautiful person both inside and out. She had a heart of gold. She will be missed so much by everyone who had the great honor of knowing her. I’m so glad that I was one of her friends and was able to share in her life here on earth. My prayers are with you all!

  8. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Connie at the Call Center in Franklin a number of years ago. Connie was the sweetest person I know and always had a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

    My deepest sympathy goes to each of you for the lost of someone so dear to your hearts. I am so happy that I did get to spend a few time with her when we was at Tammy and Bills house for a cook out when we was in Grove City, Pennsylvanina to visit.

    Connie had such a beautiful smile and I can see why everyone loved her so much. I just wish I could have had gotten to know her more.
