Charles E. Jenkins

Charles E. Jenkins, 86, of Lake Creek Road Cooperstown, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 2:10 p.m. at The Caring Place in Franklin. He was born on June 14, 1926 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of the late Fred and Mabel Loomis Jenkins. Charles was a retired brewer for the Anheuser Busch Company. He also lived in the Polk area for several years and worked for the Franklin Area School District at Polk Elementary. His interest included woodworking, farming, home improvement, and his yard work. He is survived by his nieces Charlene Williams and her husband James of Creston, Ohio; Rebecca Klontz of Heath, Ohio; a nephew Russell Klontz and his wife Sarah of Lancaster, Ohio; his former wife Kitty Stebleton of Lancaster, Ohio. He is also survived by his close friends; Paul and Edna Malone, David and Barbara Ralph, and all his friends at the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church where he attended. In addition to his parents Charles was preceded in death by a brother Leon Jenkins and a sister Cora Klontz. Friends and family of Charles will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, in Franklin from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Elder Ken Hall, CLP of the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Cooperstown Cemetery.
