Bonita Sue Stroup, 70, of Franklin, died at 12:10 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Meadville Medical Center. Born February 6, 1943 in Franklin, Bonita was the daughter of the late John Henry and Margaret Shoffstall Campbell. She was married to William Arthur Rodgers, who preceded her in death, and then to Paul Stroup who also preceded her in death in February 2001. Bonita was a member of the Cooperstown Community Church of God and was actively involved with the church when her health permitted. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating. She made all types of crafts and attended and participated in craft shows throughout the area. Bonita enjoyed reading and surfing the internet. In her younger years, she loved to travel. She also had at one time worked at Riverside Market decorating cakes. Bonitas greatest joy was the times she spent with her family. Bonita is survived by her daughter, Peggy Troup and her husband, Mikel, of Rocky Grove; her brother, Gary Sisney of Atlanta, Georgia; and her sister, Mary Kistler, and her husband, Donald, of Franklin.; her grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Troup of Rocky Grove; and her nephews, Donald Kistler and his wife, Theresa of Shamokin, PA, Thomas Kistler and his wife, Kathleen, of Franklin, and Mark Kistler and his wife, Dolores, of Seneca. Family and friends of Bonita will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, on Thursday, October 31st from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. following visitation, with Rev. Barry Markle, pastor of the Cooperstown Community Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301. Jim and I wish to extend our condolences to Peggy and her family. She was a wonderful loving person. Everyone enjoyed your fun like ways and her laugh. She will be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss. At times we may wonder who to turn to while going through difficult times. Besides talking to friends and family, we can talk to Jehovah God through prayer. The Bible tells us at 2 Corinthians 1:3 that Jehovah is the “God of all comfort.” I hope that this scripture can be helpful to all in grief.
