Betty Spencer, 76, of 621 Pacific St., Franklin, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at her residence. Born March 21, 1933, in Arnold City, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Disa Hough. She was married to Robert Spencer Sr. who preceded her in death. Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and active in the Salvation Army as a senior soldier, women's Bible study and home league. Mrs. Spencer is survived by six children, Robert Spencer Jr. of Franklin, Timothy Spencer of Franklin, Gloria Jackson and her husband, Timothy, of Erie, Jennie Briscal of Milton, Fla., Deborah Hollowell and her husband, Pat, of Oil City and Theresa Stricklen and her fiance, Mike Feely, of Oil City. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bennett Hough of Monogahela. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Spencer; a sister, Eliza Painter; and a brother, George Sullivan. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Envoys Ralph and Virginia Hardeman, of the Franklin Salvation Army, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens.   1. Betty will be missed in Franklin Salvation Army. She was always such a great lady who would do anything for anyone that asked her to. I will be praying for her family that God will give them peace in this time. It was great to know Betty from Franklin when we lived there.
