Anna Louise Smith Craft, age 91, of 191 Washington Street, Franklin, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, at her residence. A daughter of LeRoy and Leona Fescenmyer Walker she was born November 29, 1921 in Clarion, PA. Employed by Polk Center, she had worked as a Medical Aide for 19 years prior to retirement. Mrs. Craft was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, a member of the Sugar Creek Station Volunteer Auxillary, and a former member of the Eagles and the Moose Auxillary. She was also an avid bowler. Surviving are two daughters; Paulie Summerville and husband David of Adamsville, PA, Jane Khein and husband Richard of Hollywood, FL; four step-children; Kenneth Smith of Franklin, Patti Optiz and husband David of Stoneboro, Kate Karns and husband John of Cooperstown, Barbara Miley of Olathe, KS; sister, Betty McCleary of Parkersburg, WV; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above; her husband, John E. Smith, Jr.; second husband, Earl M. Craft; a son, Earl E. Craft; daughter, Freda Vallo; two brothers, Edward Walker and Paul Walker; and three sisters Lucille Jones, Margarete Wolff, and Evelyn Rapp. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Samuel Wagner, associate pastor of Christ United Methodist, officiating. Interment will be made in Sunset Hill Memorial Garden. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Sugar Creek Station Volunteer Auxillary, c/o 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, PA 16323. Paulie, we are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was such a good friend and neighbor when we lived next door to her on Buffalo Street. Our visits to Franklin won’t be the same without seeing her. We are praying for you and your family now.

Louise was such a beautiful person. So full of energy and willing to help.
When I was the head of the volunteers for Sugar Creek Station and VNA, she was always there when I needed her to volunteer. She will surly be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of grandmas passing. She was a wonderful women and I am so glad my life has be blessed by such a wonderful person. God bless the whole family.
