Alfred "Pops" W. Lewis,Sr., 86, of33467 Shaffer Road, Guys Mills, PA, passed away on April 8th, 2011 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Oil City on April 25th, 1924. A son of Lillian Lewis.
He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran
He married Joan Kingrea on December 27, 1958. She survives.
Alfred was a graduate of Cheltenham High School outside of Philadelphia, PA. He worked for the Department of Defense for 27 years until his retirement. He and his wife owned and operated Bundle of Care in Meadville. Also, he enjoyed camping, being outdoors on his tractor and 4-wheeler, hunting, and spending time with his dogs. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and earned his Order of the Arrow badge.
Survivors include his wife Joan of Guys Mills, PA, two daughters, Karen Parker and her husband Mark of Cochranton, PA, Wendy Johns and her husband Marc of Centerville, PA, a son Alfred W. Lewis, Jr., of Naples, FL; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Wiley and her husband Pat of Meadville, Kelly Hatleli of Meadville, Sarah Parker of Cochranton, Jordan, Kevin, and Gregory Johns all of Centerville, PA, and Micah Lewis of Naples, FL; two sisters, Elizabeth Kinsella of Ocala, FL, and Jacqueline Anderson and her husband Roy of Horsham, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Frank Kinsella.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorials can be made to the Charity of the Donor's choice.
