Alberta Arlene Roha Williams,89, of Waterford, passed away Thursday, July 5, at Saint Mary’s at Asbury Ridge with her children by her side. She was born March 10, 1923, in Meadville Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Victor and Myrtle Boyles Roha. She married Bernard P. Williams on May 10, 1941 and they had five children, he preceded her in death on May 2, 1959. Alberta was a very kind and loving mother and grandmother. She was admired by her family and friends for her strength and her willingness to help others. Her beautiful smile touched the hearts of many. She enjoyed taking care of her home, spending time with her family, and was known for her wonderful talent in the kitchen. She also loved gardening, shopping, and taking flying lessons. She was very honored when she earned her solo pilot license in 1976. She worked at The Ramada Inn, and most recently enjoyed her employment at McGarrey’s Oakwood for the past 25 years. She will be greatly missed by her family. In addition to her husband, Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Myrtle Roha; her in-laws, Raymond and Zetta Williams; her sisters Dorothy Adams, and Shirley Hollern; her brother Robert Roha ;her brother(s)-in-law Richard Hollern, and Jim Brown; her brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Laurene Williams and her son-in-law Michael McGarrey. She is survived by her children Gary Williams and his wife Patti, Debby McGarrey, Sandy Fruscella and her husband Ray, Scotty Williams and his wife Ruth, Tammy Samol and her husband Tony; her grandchildren Kirsten Chimenti, Tyme Flatt , Jes, Taylor and Corbyn Fruscella, Cheston and Rhianna Williams, Anthony (T.J.), Jessica, Trevor and Allison Samol, Shane and Kelly McGarrey; her great-grandchildren Aspen and Paisley Flatt, Ella Samol, , and Bro by Fruscella; her sisters Virginia Brown, Donna Garrison and her husband Donald, Joann Allen and her companion Paul Tish, and Connie Brown and her husband Ben, her brother-in-law Bob Adams; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial is being held for family and friends at Saint Mary’s at Asbury Ridge Chapel, Monday July, 9, at 10:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) and the Alzheimer’s Research Association (www.alzra.org). I have fond memories of the fun we shared at your house growing up. From making pizza to trips with your mom to Meadville. It is with great sadness that we learned about Alberta’s passing through some of the generous donations that Alberta’s family was so kind to mention about us here at the Alzheimer’s Research Association.
